Blacktop Passages publishes short fiction, poetry, nonfiction, art, and photography about the road, online and in print.
We consider submissions of up to five poems or 3,000 words. Tell us a bit about yourself and your work in a short cover letter. We strive to respond in a timely manner, so please let us know if more than one month has elapsed since your submission. Please see our Duotrope page for specifics on types, lengths, and restrictions.
While we don’t consider previously published work, we accept simultaneous submissions. Just let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Finally, Blacktop Passages requests First Exclusive Print & Electronic Serial Rights to your submissions. This means we’re the first and only magazine, journal, or periodical to publish the piece in print or online. Your work can still be anthologized or reprinted in a collection.
